Hazel Spire: fiction - poetry - art

Making important marks on paper for half a century

Double Delights

It is 3 A.M. You have just rocked your baby to sleep after feeding her, changing her, and persuading her that daytime is playtime. You collapse into bed and close your eyes with relief.

But not for long.

A cry from the other crib tells you that her twin sister is hungry. (She wasn't ready when you tried nursing them together.) Staggering to the nursery, you consider starting one twin on bottles and having your husband share night feeds. But which twin? Besides, Daddy need his sleep if he is to work and provide two of everything from potty chairs to bikes to weddings.

SO BEGINS MY ARTICLE ABOUT HOW JEANNINE & SANDRA (TWO NEW MOTHERS OF TWINS IN MY TOWN) FOUND 10,000 FRIENDS WHO UNDERSTOOD HOW THEY FELT. CONTACT ME FOR A COPY.
